The National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians went on strike, and the actors' union, AFTRA, told their members to honor the strike and not cross the picket lines. But, you know, Dark Shadows executive producer Dan Curtis was all, "Hey, we gotta keep the show going, man!" So, he asked the cast to cross the picket lines, and they all came back, except for two actors, Robert Gerringer and Daniel Keyes. They were replaced, and the show continued, with ABC executives doing the technical work instead of the striking technicians. That's like, totally gnarly, man!
🔪 Now, let's get to the episode, man! It's like, totally trippy! David is having some wild dreams, and Dr. Fisher is all, "Hey, let's talk about your fears, man!" And David's all, "Uh, I'm afraid of death, man!" And Dr. Fisher is all, "Ah, yeah, that's because you never accepted your mom's death, man!" And I'm like, "Whoa, dude, that's heavy!" But, you know, it's like, totally true, man! David's mom died in front of him, and that's like, totally traumatic, man!
🔮 And then, there's Dr. Woodard, man! He's like, totally new, and he's all, "Hey, I'm a psychiatrist, man!" And David's all, "Uh, yeah, I've got a lot on my plate, man!" And Dr. Woodard is all, "Ah, yeah, let's talk about your fears, man!" And I'm like, "Whoa, dude, this is like, totally deep, man!" But, you know, it's like, totally shallow, man! I mean, come on, Dr. Woodard, you're just a recast, man! You're like, totally not the real deal, man!
🔥 So, in the end, Dr. Woodard goes back to the Collins family mausoleum, and it's like, totally symbolic, man! It's like, the show is going in circles, and we're all just stuck in this never-ending loop, man! But, you know, it's like, totally cool, man!
